Indie royalty MGMT it laying down tour dates across North America in preparation for the release of their second studio album entitled “Congratulations.” The album is due for release on April 13. The new tour will get started on April 12 with a two-night stand at San Francisco’s legendary Fillmore then continue on through August 8 where they will take the stage at Lollapalooza in Chicago. A full outline of MGMT tour dates are fleshed out below.

“Congratulations” serves as the follow-up effort to their breakout 2008 debut “Oracular Spectacular” that yielded the band two Grammy nominations. The band has been on a perpetual high since they broke on the scene — opening for Radiohead and Paul McCartney, collaborating with Flaming Lips and even had Rolling Stone anoint “Oracular Spectacular” as the 18th best album of the decade. “Congratulations” recruits Sonic Boom (Spacemen 3, E.A.R., Spectrum) to assist MGMT behind the production booth. The album was leaked to the web last month so the band struck back by making all songs available to freely stream off MGMT’s website prior to the official release.
