Metallica, Lou Reed Record New Album Together
The last full-length album from Metallica, the metal super group, was their 2008 release “Death Magnetic.” However reportedly the band is working on new music and doing so with a very unlikely partner.
Lou Reed and Metallica are collaborating on a studio album of 10 tracks that blends the unique storytelling methods of Reed’s with the bombastic arrangements of the trash metal band.
In an exclusive Rolling Stone magazine interview Reed said, this is a marriage from heaven. I knew that the very first time we played together. I thought, this is perfection.
Lars Ulrich, Metallica drummer added, we have never felt this free. Nothing is completely outside the boundaries for us. We never feel like, what will happen if we go with that. The strength of Metallica and Reed makes us feel we can’t land in the wrong place.
According to Ulrich the album is about 90 percent finished. However at this time there aren’t any release plans. Ulrich says, we’re free to go anywhere. I’m psyched, obviously for people to get to hear it, in whatever way all of us feel is right.
