He holds the record for most No. 1 singles on Billboard's Tropical Songs chart. Anthony is a limited partner/minority owner of the NFL team the Miami Dolphins.

Marc Anthony was a session vocalist at the beginning of his music career, working for underground and freestyle house music acts in New York. Anthony sang backup vocals in 1989 on "Without or Without You," a freestyle club hit, for Ann-Marie. Anthony released his second album, "Todo a su tiempo," in 1995. The album received a Grammy nomination and Billboard named Anthony Hot Tropical Artist of the Year.
