Marc Anthony Set to Kick Off Vivir Mi Vida Tour
Marc Anthony is set to kick off the North American segment of his much-anticipated, and seemingly insanely-sponsored, Vivir Mi Vida Tour this week at Miami’s American Airlines Arena, where he’ll play two consecutive shows on August 23rd-24th.
The tour will see Anthony travel across the country with dates in Orlando (Aug. 25), Long Island (Sept. 1), Houston (Sept. 5), Chicago (Sept. 7), Las Vegas (Sept. 13), Tucson (Sept. 14), Oakland, California (Sept 27) and Los Angeles (Sept. 28 and 29), interspersed with South American shows, before he’s Aussie bound for the tour’s second, slightly shorter leg.
Anthony told Billboard, “This new tour, Vivir Mi Vida, is extremely special because it gives me the opportunity to present songs from my first production of original music in almost 10 years. I am really excited to meet again with all my fans and look forward to sharing with them my music’s journey.”
The Vivir Mi Vida tour is in support of Anthony’s latest album, the imaginatively-titled, 3.0, which was released earlier this year and upon its release, was Anthony’s first original salsa album in over ten years, spawning the Latin mega-hit, wait for it, wait for it…”Vivir Mi Vida.” (Weren’t expecting that, were you?!)
Also, a Fan Wall will be placed in the activation area (whatever on earth that is) at each concert venue, where fans will have the chance to write a message to Marc Anthony, brought to you by Corona, so if you’ve ever wanted to say anything to the guy, here’s your chance, I guess.
Apparently, Marc Anthony is the top selling tropical artist of all time, and a two-time Grammy and three-time Latin Grammy Award winner. He’s sold more than 12 million albums worldwide, and he once did a song with Pitbull, which I’m sure he considers to be the pinnacle of his career.
Oh yeah, and for good measure – [Insert Jennifer Lopez joke here, or something.]
I hope he’s feeling well-rested, anyway, cause this tour looks like a big one.
