Luke Bryan Spring Tour Set with Thompson Square, Florida Georgia Line
Luke Bryan is set to head out on his first ever headlining arena tour next year, and he’ll be bringing Thompson Square and Florida Georgia Line along for the ride.
The “Dirt Road Diaries” tour will kick off January 17 at the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind., and the extensive trek is scheduled to stay on the road until a March 23 show at the John Paul Jones Area in Charlottesville, Va. In between, the tour will visit cities including Huntsville, Ala.; State College, Pa.; Bloomington, Ill.; Fort Wayne, Ind.; Sioux City, Iowa and Orange Beach, Alabama.
“I have dreamed about this day for a very long time,” Bryan said in a statement on his website. “We are having the best time putting together all the bells and whistles for the tour. I have spent a lot of time out on tours with some really great artists and each night we have tried to learn from them. I couldn’t be more excited about this!”
Bryan spent most of this year as the opening act on Jason Aldean’s “My Kinda Party” tour, and also has opened for other big names including Tim McGraw and Rascal Flatts.
“With me, I’ve been lucky where all of my steps have come as they should, kind of gradual,” Bryan recently told CMT. “With this (arena tour), it’s been a gradual, gradual climb where it’s time for that to be happening for me now. It’s not overwhelming to me. It’s really fun and exciting. Now, we put that focus in and kind of remember what got us here and try to amplify that.”
He also spoke to the country music network about what he was planning for the tour.
“We are looking at stage setups and how many buses it’s going to take and how many trucks to haul it around and the lighting and trying to pick new songs and new things,” he continued. “So we’re going to get through this year and spend the off season thinking about how we’re going to do things and how much money it’s going to take to put it on and figuring out the way to put on the best show out there.”
