Luke Bryan Planning Headlining Tour in 2013
Just because Luke Bryan is currently crisscrossing the country with Jason Aldean, doesn’t mean he’s not already working on his future touring plans. In fact, he’s already planning his next headlining tour for 2013.
“We’re already throwing around set ideas and checking prices on these little knick-knacks and toys to have fun with,” Bryan told Pennsylvania radio station WIOV. He said he hopes to give top touring artists like Tim McGraw and Rascal Flatts a little competition with his new tour.
“That makes everybody plan more to try to create the best tour, he continued. “That makes country put better tours out overall throughout the whole year… It’s a tall order when you start trying to reinvent the wheel on some of that stuff. You just have to try to come up with some new, fresh ideas and just try to put what you feel like is the best show out there.”
Bryan has the right to be planning a headlining tour, as his current single, “Drunk on You,” is this week’s bestselling country song. Additionally, his third album, Taillights and Tanlines, was just certified platinum. Released a little less than a year ago, the album is Bryan’s first to sell 1 million copies.
To celebrate the milestone, Bryan threw a private tailgate in the parking lot of Nashville’s LP Field. The event was attended by family, friends, industry peers and a few contest winners. Bryan spoke to “Taste of Country” about the event.
“It’s an amazing day to celebrate [the album] being platinum,” he said. “It’s kind of like a college degree… when you get one, no one can take it from you. When you get to say for the rest of your life that you’ve got a platinum album, that really means something. It was a lot of hard work, a lot of effort and a lot of people that have worked hard to make this stuff happen.”
