lmfao Biography

The American electropop duo LMFAO consists of SkyBlu and Redfoo. Redfoo is the uncle of SkyBlu and Berry Gordy of Motown Records is Redfoo's father and SkyBlu's grandfather. SkyBlu and RedFoo grow up in Pacific Palisades, an affluent neighborhood in Los Angeles. In 2006 they formed LMFAO. In September 2012 they announced they were taking a hiatus.

LMFAO has released sixteen music videos, fifteen singles, one EP and two studio albums. They started their career on the club circuit in Los Angeles, where they were positively received. They signed with Interscope Records. In 2008 the duo released "Party Rock," an EP, and then in 2009 released their first studio album, which was also entitled "Party Rock." The album peaked in the No. 33 spot on Billboard's 200 chart. "Im in Miami Bitch," the first single off the album, peaked in the No. 51 spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. The song hit the top 40 in Canada and Australia. "La La La," the second single, peaked in the No. 55 spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and "Shots" peaked at No. 68. "Yes," the fourth single off the album, peaked in the No. 69 spot in Canada.

In 2010 LMFAO was featured in "Gettin' Over You," a song by David Guetta. It topped the UK and French charts and reached the top 10 in many other countries, making it a big international hit. In June 2011 the group released "Sorry for Party Rocking," LMFAO's second album. The lead single off the album was "Party Rock Anthem." It topped Billboard's Hot 100 as well as other charts in the UK, Canada and Australia. The second single, "Champagne Showers," hit the top 10 in New Zealand and Australia. The third single, "Sexy and I Know It," hit No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and also topped the Canadian and Australian charts. "Sorry for Party Rocking," the fourth single, peaked in the No. 49 spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
