Little Big Town Take ‘Tornado’ on Tour

Little Big Town will head out on the road next year in what the group is calling the “Tornado Tour.”

The extensive tour will kick off on January 31, 2013 at the KY Lovett Auditorium in Murray, Kentucky and will continue through May 9 when the band performs at the North Charleston PAC in North Charleston, South Carolina In between those dates, the group will visit most regions of North America, with shows in New York, Atlantic City, Winnipeg, Vancouver and Augusta, Georgia, among many others.

For the first half of the tour, Little Big Town will welcome opener Kacey Musgraves as a special guest. David Nail will then join the tour as the opener starting March 8 at a show in New Buffalo, Michigan at the Four Winds Casino Silver Creek Event Center. Nail will then stay through the remainder of the tour.

The tour is named after the group’s fifth studio album, Tornado, which was released in September. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 albums chart, and peaked at number one on the Billboard Country albums chart.

“We’ve been looking forward to announcing this tour for so long and can’t wait to hit the road next year,” said Little Big Town member Kimberly Schlapman in a press release. “It’s going to be so much fun to share more music from this record with our fans and we feel very honored to have Kacey and David opening for us. They’re incredible artists. This new album means so much to us and to be able to showcase all of these songs is a dream come true.”

Musgraves also expressed her excitement about joining the group on tour.

“I can’t wait to kick off the new year with Little Big Town,” she said in the statement. “As a musician and fan I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this amazing show. Theaters alone project a special vibe for live music and adding Little Big Town’s sound to that will be magical.”
