Lil Wayne had to have nine stitches following a skateboarding accident.

Reportedly the 6’7” rapper is recovering after he fell and cut his head while he was at a St. Louis skate park.

The Daily Mail reported that Weezy was transported to the Emergency Room at DePaul Health Centre accompanied by the rapper’s large entourage.

Lil Wayne, after he was treated, tweeted to inform his fans about the accident. He wrote, my head got busted while I was at the sk8park. Gnarly gash on my left eye. 9 stitches. Love my people.

Well wishes started pouring in from Lil Wayne’s fans. Later Young Money CEO tweeted, thanks for all your concern. Please know eventually I will end up taking falls that are even harder if I want to get better, which I will.

The “Lollipop” hit maker, in addition to his skateboarding accident, has announced that “Tha Carter IV, his highly anticipated new album, will be released following his 2011 MTV performance on August 28.

In a statement Lil Wayne confirmed he will be releasing the album at midnight following the ceremony. He said, I’m very excited being the first artist who will utilize this amazing idea. Hopefully this opens the door for other artists.
