Latest Lady Antebellum Album ‘Own the Night’ Releases September 13
Lady Antebellum has announced that “Own the Night,” the country trio’s greatly anticipated third album, will be released via Capitol Nashville on September 13.
Charles Kelley, who along with Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood comprise Lady Antebellum said, the last year to year and a half we’ve spent writing for the album. We are very proud. Kelley discussed the new album at Billboard’s 2011 Music Awards from the red carpet.
Last month the group released “Just a Kiss,” the first single off the new album. They also performed the song at Billboard’s 2011 Music Awards as well as on “American Idol.” Last month “Just a Kiss” debuted in the No. 7 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. Four weeks out, the song is currently sitting in the No. 15 spot on Billboard’s Country Songs chart.
We are very excited. Kelley said, we never expected the first single would debut inside the top 10. Hopefully that’s a good start. You never know before the music gets out to the fans. We are feeling good. However they will let us know whether they like the album or not, he added.
“Own the Night” is a followup to “Need You Now,” Lady Antebellum’s breakout second set that sat atop Billboard’s 200 chart for four weeks and last February won five Grammy awards. According to a report from Nielsen SoundScan, “Need You Now,” since being released in January 2010, has sold 3.5 million copies.
