Lady Antebellum to Finally Headline Summer Tour

After playing second bill for a handful of other artists, award winning country trio Lady Antebellum will finally get to play as main act in their upcoming “Need You Now” tour to further promote their sophomore release of the same title.

The album tour will be launched on September 27 in Bloomsburg, PA. They will be crossing 35 US cities, and will be tagging artist David Neil to perform as opening act. Further details of the tour can be viewed at the trio’s official website.

In a statement released by the group at their website, the group’s lead vocalist Hillary Scott reminisces on their humble beginnings when they started out in Nashville, and the thought of headlining their own tour is almost unfathomable.

“Need You Now” is the band’s follow-up to their self-titled debut album which was released in 2008. The first album earned platinum status and bagged a CMA nod for Album of the Year in 2010. When the sophomore studio album hit stores in January, it immediately peaked at the top spot of Billboard’s Hot 200 Albums chart. It also sold close to 500,000 copies in its first week alone.

The trio is currently opening up for Tim McGraw’s album tour. They are also scheduled to perform in a string of solo shows, details of which are posted over at the band’s website. The group can also be seen performing live in the upcoming CMA Music Festival in Nashville on June 10.
