Korn Books Dates for Upcoming Tour
Korn, the alt-metal rock band, is in the middle of their “Family Values Tour.” They have also recently announced initial dates for their fall headlining outing.
Their “Bi#%H! We Have A Problem Tour” of North America will be kicking off in Reno NV on September 22. The trek’s special guests include Droid, Five Finger Death Punch and Hell Yeah. Nine dates have been scheduled, with additional ones to be announced soon, according to a Korn MySpace page blog entry.
The band since late July has been traveling all over the US on their “Family Values Tour” along with Evanescence, their co-headliner, as well as Hell Yeah, Trivium, Flyleaf and Atreyu at the main stage . Rounding the bill out are Droid and Nuerosonic.
Korn is touring in support of their untitled eighth studio set. It was released on July 31 and peaked in the No. 2 spot on Billboard’s 200 album chart. Jonathan Davis, Korn frontman, said the album was about our minds opening up and us growing up.
The band was forced to grow and change in 2005 when Brian Welch, guitarist, left the group and last year when David Silveria, their drummer, started on an extended hiatus.
Davis said, of course the chemistry and dynamics have changed. That’s reflected creatively and musically on the album. He added that the band members that remained had been forced to step up.
The band’s untitled album is a followup to “See You on the Other Side,” their multi platinum album from 2005. James “Munky” Shaffer has taken on all of the guitar responsibilities and Terry Bozzio has filled in on drums. On Korn’s MySpace page several songs from the album, including “Evolution,” the lead single, are streaming.
On tour, Joey Jordison from Slipknot is on drums, while Clint Lowery, former member of Sevendust, has joined Shaffer on guitar.
