Keane Takes the ‘Night Train’ Across the US
British alternative rock group Keane will be back in the US this summer to promote “Night Train”, their new eight-song EP, which hit retailers this week.
The tour will kick off in Oakland, CA on July 20 through a performance in Minneapolis, MN on August 11. Travis lead singer, Fran Healy, and Ingrid Michaelson, will be opening for the band. Tickets will be available on May 14. The full list of dates is shown at right.
Despite the band officially categorizing its most recent studio release as an EP, “Night Train” offers eight tracks and runs almost half an hour of new materials.
The album includes “Stop For a Minute” and “Looking Back,” both collaborations with Somali-Canadian performer K’Naan. “Big, bold, catchy anthems, produced in quite a polished way,” Adam Tudhope, the band’s manager, described the K’Naan collaborations to Billboard.com lately.
“Perfect Symmetry”, the band’s latest full-length album, was released in 2008. It peaked at number seven on The Billboard 200 and topped sales in the UK, Mexico and Argentina.
