Keane Schedule Another Leg of US Tour Dates

Keane are bringing their Strangeland tour back to America early next year.

The group will kick off a month-long tour on January 8 at the McMenamins Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Oregon, and will stay on the American road through January 31, when they are scheduled to perform at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Additional tour stops include San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Minneapolis, Nashville and Atlanta.

The boys in the band seem particularly excited about stops in Idaho, Vermont and Tennessee.

“We’re very excited to announce that we’ll be crossing the pond for another tour of the US in January!” reads a statement on the group’s official website, attributed to ‘Tom and the others x.’ “Not only are we going to be visiting some familiar haunts but there are some new places to add to the apparently never-ending list of American towns we haven’t been to before… people of Boise and Burlington, we look forward to meeting you! For those of you who only saw half a show last time in Nashville before we set fire to the street, we’re coming back to finish the job (the gig as opposed to burning down the town!).”

The Nashville gig referred to in the statement refers to a June concert at the city’s Marathon Music Works. The concert was cut short after about 45 minutes when a transformer on the same street as the venue overheated and caught fire. As a result, power was cut to the street and the venue.

The tour is supporting the group’s fourth album, Strangeland, which was released in May. Though the record debuted at number one in the UK, it failed to crack the top 10 of the Billboard 200 albums chart in the U.S., debuting at number 17. Thus far, three singles have been released from the record: “Silenced by the Night,” “Disconnected” and “Sovereign Light Café.”
