Katey Sagal Takes ‘Sons of Anarchy’ On Tour

Katey Sagal is taking her show “Sons of Anarchy” on the road.

The actress, who plays Gemma Teller Morrow on the hit FX show, will present a handful of dates dubbed “Katey Sagal: An Evening of Music and the Cast of Sons of Anarchy.”

The short tour will take place exclusively in the midwest, beginning April 18 at the Midland Theatre in Kansas City, Mo. and continue nightly until an April 21 appearance at the Vic Theater in Chicago. In between, the actress also will visit the Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee (April 19) and Mill City Nights in Minneapolis (April 20).

Music will be provided by the Forest Rangers, the band behind all the music from the TV series. Additionally, two actors from the show will join Sagal for a moderated panel discussion each night: Theo Rossi (Juice) and Ryan Hurst (Opie).

“We love playing because that is where we all started many years ago,” said Bob Thiele, Jr., leader of the Forest Rangers and music supervisor for “Sons of Anarchy.” “Katey, like the rest of the band, started singing in bands in her teens. And here we are, still at it, years later. It’s pretty cool.”

Sagal has worked as a backup singer for a variety of well-known artists, including Bette Midler, Bob Dylan and Etta James. She is best known to widespread audience as Peggy Bundy from “Married… with Children.”

Here’s how the official Facebook page for the tour describes the live panel discussion portion of the tour:

A rare look inside the FX series “Sons of Anarchy” with cast members Katey Sagal (Gemma), Theo Rossi (Juice) and Ryan Hurst (Opie) along with S.O.A. music supervisor Bob Thiele, Jr. for a moderated panel conversation, fan Q&A and more.

Music during the evenings will come from “Sons of Anarchy,” as well as from Sagal’s upcoming new release.
