Journey Team with Foreigner for July Concert Tour
Journey and Foreigner, two major rock and roll bands out of the 70s and 80s, will present a joint tour for three months throughout the United States. The first date is in Salt Lake City on July 21 and the final date is in Seattle, WA on October 21.
Each group has experienced a rebirth of sorts over the last few years due to a profitable partnership with Wal-Mart. Journey is going to work with Wal-Mart to release its new album, Eclipse which is due out on May 24. This worked well for them when they released Revelation in 2009. Foreigner used Wal-Mart to exclusively sell its album, Can’t Slow Down, back in 2009. They are looking to drop a new 2-CD/DVD package prior to the tour. It will include new versions of their best songs and a couple of new releases as well. In the package there will be a live CD and a DVD recording of their concert for Public Television Rocks!, a PBS event. This will be recorded on March 26 and 17.
Mick Jones of Foreigner stated, “This will be one of the main events of the summer. Bands who represent the magic era in Classic Rock together for the first time in ten years. Get ready to rock!”
Neal Schon of Journey said, “We haven’t toured with Foreigner for over 10 years, so re’re really looking forward to this run.”
