John Mayer ‘Paradise Valley’ Free Stream on iTunes
Singer-songwriter John Mayer has offered up his new album, Paradise Valley, to the iTunes streaming gods for a week prior to its scheduled release date of August 20th, which is very modern of him.
The click happy among you will have to read the whole article before I give you that link.
It’s his first album since last year’s Born and Raised and features a duet with sometime all-the-time GF, Katy Perry, and a performance from nevertime BF Frank Ocean.
Mayer is currently in the middle of a ginormous tour after touring too hard left him with a granuloma on his vocal chords three years ago, leaving him unable to perform. I don’t know what that is, but it sounds really unpleasant. The masochistic among you can just Google image it, I guess, ’cause I’m not going to.
Take it easy, John: we don’t want any more of them granulomas!
The tour kicked off last month and sees Mayer make 40 whole stops across the whole world, and concludes in October. Support comes from the astonishingly-young and unimaginatively-named Phillip Phillips for most US shows. Mayer’s also been confirmed for the Global Poverty Project benefit concert in Central Park on September 28.
The current tour also sees Mayer doing his bit for charity, as a dollar from each ticket sold will go towards Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder programs, in association with the Northern California Institute for Research and Education, for Military Veterans.
The Grammy-winning singer is due to appear on the “Late Show With David Letterman”, performing on a “Live On Letterman” web concert on the 19th, which is also very modern of him, and tickets are available on a winnable basis via Mayer’s mobile app, which too proves that Mayer is a very modern and technologically-savvy guy.
Fans who pre-order Paradise Valley will immediately receive a download of “Wildfire”, Mayer’s latest single from said album.
Oh, and here’s that album, free to stream for a limited time. Thank you for your patience.
