Jewel Makes Sweet ‘Lullaby’ With Acoustic Tour

It’s been fourteen years since Jewel entered the scene with ‘Pieces of You,’ and while her focus has sometimes changed, her singer/songwriter roots remain intact. The Alaska native is readying a full 16-city acoustic tour to celebrate the release of her eight studio album ‘Lullaby.’ The tour launches in Baltimore on October 27 and will carry her through to Fort Worth to close things up on November 15. Meiko will provide opening support on the first leg of the tour.

Lullaby marks Jewel’s first independent release and was released in May. It is unique in that 10 of the 15 tracks are childhood standards like “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” The album was done in cooperation with Fisher Price.

Jewel was set to star on the reality dance extravaganza “Dancing with the Stars,” but a last minute injury caused her to back out of competition.
