The American stand-up comedian and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham was born in Dallas, Texas in April 1962. Dunham has made appearances on several television shows, including “Sonny With a Chance,” “The Tonight Show, “Comedy Central Presents,” “Late Show with David Letterman” and “Star Search.” Comedy Central audiences know him from his three network specials: “Jeff Dunham's Very Special Christmas Special,” “Jeff Dunham: Spark of Insanity” and “Jeff Dunham: Arguing with Myself.” In addition in 2009, Dunham starred for one season in the program “The Jeff Dunham Show” on Comedy Central.

Dunham's style has been characterized as a more digestible, dressed down Don Rickles version that has a multiple personality disorder. Dunham's characters have been described by Time as ill tempered, gratuitously insulting and politically incorrrect. Jeff Dunham has also beend credited with ventriloquism's revival and having done more for the art from since Edgar Bergen.

Slate.com has dubbed Dunham as “America's favorite comedian.” According to Pollstar, a concert industry publication, Jeff Dunham is North America's highest grossing standup act and also one of Europe's most successful acts as well. Through March 2009 Dunham had sold more than four million DVD as well as merchandise sales of 7 million dollars. Dunham's videos have received over 350 million YouTube hits. “A Very Special Christmas Special” is Comedy Central's most watched telecast ever. The DVD went quadruple platinum and sold more than 400,000 copies during the first week weeks it was out. Forbes.com has ranked Jeff Dunham as third highest paid U.S. comedian, trailing only Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld.
