Jane’s Addiction, Slash Join UR1 Festival Line-Up
Miami’s UR1 Music & Art Festival has revealed the second phase of its lineup, which will feature Slash and Jane’s Addiction, among many others. They will join the previously announced headliners, Kanye West and Lou Reed.
Other new additions to the lineup include Animal Collective, Flying Lotus, Iggy Azealea, Norman Doray and many more. All of these artists ensure that UR1 continues to have one of the most eclectic lineups of any festival this year.
The event will be held this year December 8-9 in Miami’s Bayfront Park, and is part of the 11th Annual Art Basel Miami Beach, which is a contemporary art fair.
Other notable artists performing at this year’s event include the Offspring, fun., Keane, Peter Murphy, Santigold and Dan Deacon. The event will be held on multiple stages, including the Main Stage, Cocoon Heroes Arena, Circo Loco Area and Space Arena.
The Art Basel fair started in Switzerland, and the first Miami version was held as a sister exhibition in 2002. Producers of the UR1 Festival say the festival stands to “become one of the biggest and most diverse festivals in North America.”
The five stages are spread throughout the 32-acre waterfront park, and producers also say that the art and music portions of the event will often be combined as a “4D experience… incorporating art installations by some of the most creative artists and musicians in the world and looks to raise the bar of what a true music and arts festival can be.”
“We have entered a new decade,” states the festival’s official website. “A decade where technology has closed the gap between countries, cultures, thoughts, ideas and discovery of music. In these times there needs to be a positive celebration that unites all different genres of music under one banner.”
