James Taylor Takes Michigan Borders by Storm with In-Store Performance
According to a recent press release, James Taylor will be performing songs from “Covers,” his new album, at a Borders store in downtown Ann Arbor on Liberty Street on October 2. The songwriter-singer will be on hand following his performance for signing album copies. The new album features Taylor renditions of 1950′s through 1970′s songs. Among the songs that appear on the new album are tunes that were recorded originally by Eddie Cochran, George Jones, Leonard Cohen, the Temptations, Dixie Chicks and Buddy Holly.
The performance of Taylor can also be viewed starting October 7 at Borders.com on the broadband program for the retail giant, “Borders Live at 01.”
The webisode will show an exclusive Taylor interview along with his in-store performance. The singer will discuss movies and books that inspire him, music in general, and his new CD.
Taylor will not be personalizing his autograph in order to accommodate the most people. In addition during the signing no posed photographs can be taken and no other types of memorabilia will be signed except for the CDs.
