Jack White, the American musician, songwriter-singer and actor, was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 9, 1975. He is best known for his work with the rock band The White Stripes where he was the lead vocalist, pianist and guitarist. White also performs with The Dead Weather and The Raconteurs. White's critical and popular success as a White Stripes member led to numerous collaborations with renowned musicians like Loretta Lynn, Insane Clown Possee, Electric Six, Bob Dylan, Alicia Keys, Jeff Beck, The Rolling Stones and Beck. White became one of the founding members of The Raconteurs in 2006 and in 2009 was the drummer and founding member of The Dead Weather. In April 2012 White released "Blunderbuss," his first solo album.

In 1997 White established The White Stripes with Meg White. They played with other local bands like The Dirtbombs and Bantam Rooster in Michigan's underground garage rock scene. In 1999 White Stripes released their self-titled first album and in 2000 they released their followup set "De Stijl,"which became a cult classic. In 2003 the band released the critically and commercial successful "Elephant," which spawned their most successful single "Seven Nation Army." In 2007 White Stripes released "Icky Thump," their sixth and latest album. White Stripes disbanded in 2011.

In 2005 the band The Raconteurs was formed by White, Patrick Keeler, Jack Lawrence and Brendan Bendson. The band has released two albums. In 2006 their debut "Broken Boy Soldiers" was released and in 2008 followed up with "Consolers of the Lonely." Jack White established The Dead Weather in 2009 along with Alison Mosshart, frontwoman of The Kills. White is the vocalist and drummer. The group also includes bassist Jack Lawrence from The Raconteurs and guitarist and keyboardist Dean Fertita from Queens of the Stone Age. The band has released two albums: 2009's "Horehound" and 2010's: "Sea of Cowards."
