Grant Lee Buffalo Back Together and Hitting the Road

After more than a decade of quiescence, prominent alt-rock fixtures Grant Lee Buffalo will return to the touring scene to jam with their most loyal fans and with themselves as well, after spending the last ten years doing solo projects.

The trio, composed of Grant-Lee Phillips, Joey Peters and Paul Kimble will be pounding the pavement starting on December with a set of intimate gigs starting in Seattle on December 9 to kick things off.  The short tour will include stops in Portland, OR, California, London, Glasgow and finally in New York’s Bowery Ballroom in February 2011 to wrap things up.

Expect new spins on some of the trio’s greatest hits such as “Copperopolis”, “Mighty Joe Moon”,  “Fuzzy” and “Jubile” which has earned the group rave reviews not only from alt-rock junkies and critics, but also from their own contemporaries like Paul Westerberg and R.E.M to name a few.

In a statement sent by band front man Grant-Lee Phillips via email, he says that the reunion gig will give them “an opportunity to re-write what had once seemed to be the final chapter on the band”.  He also adds that “the band is sounding as ferocious as ever” and that they are also “excited” and anticipates their fans to be just as enthusiastic as they are with the upcoming tour.

Before the band decided to get back together for the trek, Phillips was based in Europe for his solo music project and tour, which came to a close on October 9.  He is also a regular performer at the Largo at the Coronet club in Los Angeles.  On the other hand, bassist Paul Kimble has worked with several other artists by way of session works while drummer Joey Peters previously worked with Minnie Driver and Peter Himmelman.
