fun. Add US Run to Evolving 2013 World Tour
fun. will be on the road for the majority of the remainder of this year, and now they’ve announced their first shows of 2013, which will find them in both the U.S. and Europe.
The first date of the new leg will be January 17 at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, and the U.S. dates will continue through February 16 when the band wraps things up at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. In between those dates, the group will play cities including Detroit, Boston, New York, Seattle and Atlanta.
After the U.S. dates, the group will take the rest of February off before appearing in Australia as part of the Future Music Festival in March. They will then spend the majority of April making their way throughout Europe.
fun. will kick off a previously announced tour leg October 30 with a show at Irving Plaza in New York, and will stay on the road until December 14 when they perform at the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie in Dallas. The also will play Portland, Maine; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Columbia, Missouri and Norfolk, Virginia, among other cities.
In the midst of this leg of the tour, fun. will hop across the pond to appear at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Frankfurt, Germany on November 11. The band also will appear on TV as the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” on November 3.
All dates will support the group’s most recent album, Some Nights, which was released in February. The record is the band’s second studio album and peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. Sales of the album largely were driven by the popularity of the single “We Are Young,” which features Janelle Monae. “Carry On” has been released and is the band’s current single.
