Fantasia Hopes to Find Peace on the Road with New Tour

A month after her failed suicide attempt, “American Idol” season 3 champ Fantasia Barrino finally decided to get her act straight and go back to work as she hits the road this fall in support of her third studio set and her most promising so far, “Back to Me”.

In a released statement, Barrino expressed her excitement to reconnect with her fans who backed her up through thick and thin.  “This tour is going to be a real special, intimate experience for them and for me,” she added.

The tour will encompass 30 cities and will have Barrino working over the holidays as well as the tour, which opens up on November 4 in Richmond, VA, will come to a close in St. Louis, MO as the new year unfolds.  Tagging along for the tour are Eric Benet and Kandi as support acts.  Advanced tickets for all shows will be available on September 30.

“Back to Me” is currently soaring in the charts as it peaked at the no.2 spot in the Nielsen SoundScan charts.  Two singles have already come out from the album, the first single “Bittersweet” which ranked atop the Urban Adult Radio charts and the current single “I’m Doin’ Me”.  Meanwhile, the singer also juggles TV duties when “Fantasia for Real”, her reality show aired over at VH1, is now on its second season.
