Elvis Costello Cancels Tours in South America, Mexico

On his website, Elvis Costello recently released a statement cancelling his shows in Mexico and South America that were scheduled for April.

He wrote, “To all our fans and friends in Mexico and South America we regret to announce that due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to cancel our tour scheduled for early April. We hope to be able to reschedule and return in the near future.”

Costello was set to play at Sao Paulo, Brazil’s Credicard Hall on April 5; Rio De Janeiro, Brazil’s Citibank Hall on April 6; and Santiago, Chile’s Movistar Arena on April 10.
He will now head south to Australia to perform at Fremantle’s Roots Festival on April 17 and At Tyagarah’s Bluesfest on April 25 and 26.

Costello will begin his tour in North America beginning in Reno, Nevada on May 7. It is set to run through July 20 in Glen Allen, VA.

He will also be playing at the Rochester International Jazz Festival on June 17 in Rochester, NY, and at the Gathering Of The Vibes on July 23 in Bridgeport, Conn.
Costello is scheduled to play several concerts in Europe in November. He is set to play on November 8 in Groningen, Netherlands, November 10 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and November 12 in Oslo, Norway.
