Eddie Vedder Takes His Ukulele on the Road

Eddie Vedder, to support his upcoming solo set “Ukulele Songs, will be hitting the road for a solo tour of the US of one month that starts in mid June and wraps up in the middle of July. The tour will kick of at the Performing Arts Center in Providence on June 15 and wrap up at Benaroya Hall in Seattle on July 15. Glen Hansard (The Frames, The Swell Season) will be a special guest on the tour. On April 1st tickets will be going on sale for all shows. A pre-sale for Pearl Jam Ten Club active members will be taking place on March 29 and March 30.

“Ukulele Songs,” Vedder’s new solo album, is being released May 31 via Monkeywrench Records, Pearl Jam’s label. The set includes both covers and original songs played by Vedder on his ukulele. “Longing to Belong,” the album’s first single is currently available in digital form.

The live concert DVD “Water on the Road” is also being released on May 31. It was directed by Christoph Green and Brendan Canty from Fugazi and features performances by Vedder on August 16-17, 2008 on his solo tour engagements in Washington D.C. At Warner Theatre. “Water on the Road” features Vedder performing the song “You’re True” live off of “Ukulele Songs” set in addition to a mixture of covers, songs from Pearl Jam’s catalog and tunes off of “Into The Wild,” Vedder’s award-winning and critically acclaimed solo album.
