Demi Lovato Maps Out Arena Neon Lights Tour
Demi Lovato has just announced a string of 2014 tour dates in support of latest album Demi, which she has yet to tour with due to her commitments moonlighting as an X Factor judge.
The “Neon Lights” tour is set to kick off on February 9th 2014 in Vancouver, and will see the popstar makes stops in San Jose, Houston, Atlanta, Omaha, Toronto and Nashville, among others, before finishing up in on March 30th in Indianapolis.
Support is set to come from special guests Little Mix and Fifth Harmony, both of whom have suspiciously convenient X Factor origins. [LOL JK]
When asked last May why she’d rather opt for a second run of The X Factor rather than tour in support of Demi, the singer told Billboard:
“When you have the opportunity to be in front of America every single week several times a week, that’s a very incredible opportunity, not only because your fans get to know you better, but… I was on the Disney Channel forever, and was waiting for that right job that would help me cross over to the mainstream world. I was not only in front of my fans every week, but I was also in front of adults. I never used to get recognized by adults, and now when I’m at the airport or the grocery store, the guy behind the register will be like, ‘I love you on X Factor!’ It’s really awesome to have expanded my fan base.”
Demi has been a veritable mega-success, with “Neon Lights” playing third single duties, following the Top 10 hit “Heart Attack” and “Made In The U.S.A.,” which peaked at No. 80 on the Hot 100 chart, so tickets are expected to sell in a manner similar to that of some hypothetical hotcakes, whatever a hotcake is.
