david cook Biography
The American rock songwriter-singer David Cook was born on December 20, 1982 in Houston, Texas. He rose to fame when he won the “American Idol” title in the reality television show's seventh season in 2008. Before “American Idol” he released “Analog Heart,” an independent album, in 2006. After “Idol” he released “David Cook,” his major label debut, in November 2008. The RIAA has certified the album platinum. “This Loud Morning,” Cook's third album, is scheduled to be released in June 2011.
A week after Cook's victory on “American Idol” he had eleven songs make their debut on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, to set a record. “The Time of My Life,” Cook's first single, debuted in the No. 3 spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Cook also had 14 debut entries on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart to set a record. During their first week of sales the 17 entries from Cook had 944,000 combined total digital downloads.
In February 2009, Cook kicked off his “Declaration Tour” in Tallahassee, Florida on February 13. It wrapped up in Charlotte, NC on December 1, 2009 after playing 153 shows. Cook's new album, “This Loud Morning,” is scheduled for release on June 28, 2011.
