Daughtry, 3 Doors Down Push Tour Dates into 2013

Daughtry and 3 Doors Down have extended their co-headlining U.S. tour into 2013 with the announcement of a new tour leg.

The new dates will kick off January 25 at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie, Texas, and the groups will remain on the road through a date at the Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida on February 23, 2013. Other cities the trek will hit include Tulsa, Oklahoma; St. Louis; Erie, Pennsylvania; Worcester, Massachusetts; Uncasville, Connecticut; Sunrise, Florida And Pensacola, Florida.

The current leg of the tour has been on the road since mid-November, and the group has been playing sold out shows around the country since that time. P.O.D. is opening most dates on the current leg – no word yet on whether that band will be joining the extended version of the tour.

“We’re very happy to continue the tour with 3 Doors Down, and look forward to getting this show to the fans that we missed on the first leg of the tour,” said Chris Daughtry, lead singer of Daughtry, in a statement.

“This tour with Daughtry has been amazing, and we are excited to keep it rolling into 2013,” said Brad Arnold, frontman of 3 Doors Down. “See you on the road my friends!”

Certainly nothing news in those press release quotes, but its nice to see both groups appear to be having a good time.

Daughtry continues to support Break the Spell, its third studio album that was released late last year. The group spent a good portion of this year touring with Nickelback before embarking on the 3 Doors Down co-headlining tour.

Last month, 3 Doors Down released its first greatest hits collection, appropriately titled The Greatest Hits. The compilation features two new songs by the band: “One Light” and “Goodbyes.” Of course, the collection also includes a slew of past hits, including “Kryptonite” and “When I’m Gone.”
