Dashboard Confessional Hits Road for Fall Tour

Dashboard Confessional recently emerged from the recording studio with some new music, some of which will be previewed by the band on a headlining tour this fall.

The alternative rock band, led by Chris Carrabba, also features Scott Shoenbeck, bassist, John Lefler, guitarist, and Mike Marsh, drummer. The band kicks its concert tour off with a November 7 show in Louisville, KY. The tour, which will include a three night New York City stand (December 7-9), ends in Atlanta on December 18.

In preparation of the tour, the band will also have a few shows in September and October, including an appearance in Milwaukee on September 11. Meg & Dia, Never Shout Never and New Found Glory are joining the tour as openers.

The band’s sixth studio album, “After the Ending,” is due out in stores on November 10. The set, which was produced by Butch Walker (Fall Out Boy, Weezer), is the follow up to the band’s “The Shade of Poison Trees” (2007), which made it to The Billboard 200 No. 18 slot.

The new music comes after a year of touring by Carrabba as a solo act following “The Shade of Poison Trees,” in which he still used the name of Dashboard Confessional.

Carrabba, in a blog post that was written last year on the Dashboard Confessional website, said he took a break from all his social obligations so he could write songs. Before he knew it he had a batch of intriguing, new songs that were all connected.
