Darius Rucker, the American musician, was born on May 13, 1966 in Charleston, South Carolina. He first rose to prominence as the rhythm guitarist and lead singer for Hootie & the Blowfish. The rock band was established by Rucker in 1986 along with Dean Felber, Jim Soni Sonefeld and Mark Bryan. Hootie & the Blowfish with Rucker as a member has released a total of five albums. Six of their singles have charted within the top 40 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Rucker was a co-writer on most of the songs along with the band's other three members.
In 2002, Rucker released Back to Then, his debut solo R&B record, with Hidden Beach Recordings. He signed with Capitol Records Nashville six years later. He released Learn to Live, a country music album, in 2008. Don't Think I Don't Think About It, the first single off the set, topped the Hot Country Songs chart. Alright and It Won't Be Like This For Long were also number one singles. The album was also spawned History in the Making, a number three hit. He released Charleston, SC 1966, his second album with Capitol, in October 2010, which spawned the No. 1 hit singles Come Back Song and This.
