Chris Isaak, the American rock musician, was born on June 26, 1956 in Stockton, California. In 1984 Isaak signed with Warner Bros. Records and recorded his debut album “Silvertone.” Two songs off the album, “Livin for Your Lover” and “Gone Ridin” were featured in “Blue Velvet,” the cult classic film by David Lynch. “Chris Isaak,” his self-titled second album, was released in 1987. Isaak has released a total of 14 albums.
“Wicked Game” is Isaak's best-known song. It was released on “Heart Shaped World,” Isaak's 1989 album. However an instrumental version was featured in the movie “Wild at Heart” by David Lynch. In February 1991, the song was a top 10 hit. The song's music video also became a big hit on VH1 and MTV. In 1999 his song “Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing” appeared in “Eyes Wide Shut,” the final film of Stanley Kubrick's starring Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise. The song appeared on “Forever Blue,” Isaak's 1995 album. Isaak's song “Two Hearts” appeared during the closing credits for “True Romance,” the 1993 Tony Scott directed film starring Patricia Arquette and Christian Slater.
In 2001, Isaak had his very own television program called “The Chris Isaak Show.” The program aired in the U.S. from March 2001 through March 2004 on Showtime. Isaak has also worked as an actor in several film, mainly in minor cameo roles. However he did star along with Bridget Fonda and Keanu Reeves in “Little Buddha,” the Bernardo Bertolucci-directed 1993 film. He also played one of the major roles in “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me,” the 1992 David Lynch film.
