Chris Cornell Reveals Details on New Soundgarden Album
Based on information provided by singer Chris Cornell, Soundgarden are laying down ‘diverse’ tracks for a new album.
This is the first album since ‘Down on the Upside,’ which was released in 1996. Cornell gave fans a little peak at the newest offering from the reunited group as he talked with Billboard.
He stated, “We’re pretty far into our record now. Every time we write a song we always take it for what it is and try to make it the most it can be. It’s very diverse, I can tell you that.”
Cornell indicated that no release date was imminent, saying that the group is moving at their own pace as they record at Cornell’s studio located in Seattle.
He said, “We went into this with the idea that we wouldn’t worry about scheduling or timing. We would worry about making a great record. It’s been a pretty fast pace, considering everything. But we’re not putting any pressure on ourselves. Let the album decide when it’s done.”
The group has a current album ‘Live On I5’, which was recorded live on the shelves right now.
