The American actor Charlie Sheen was born as Carlos Irwin Estevez in New York City on September 3, 1965. His parents are artist Janet Templeton and actor Martin Sheen. He made his film acting debut in 1984 in Red Dawn, a Cold War drama. His film character roles have included playing Chris Taylor in the 1986 film Platoon, a Vietnam War drama; Jake Kesey in The Wraith, a 1986 film; and in 1987 he played Bud Fox in Wall Street. Sheen has also appeared in comedic films like Scary Movie 3 and Scary Movie 4, Hot Shots! and Major League.
On television, Sheen has appeared in Spin City in the role of Charlie Crawford and in Two and a Half Men as Charlie Harper. In 2010, Sheen earned $1.8 million for each Two and a Half Men episode, making him the highest paid television actor that year. Recently Sheen's personal life has been making the news headlines including reports of drug and alcohol abuse as well as marital problems and domestic violence allegations. On March 7, 2011, Sheen was fired from the Two and a Half Men show by Warner Bros and CBS.
