Celtic Woman Kick Off U.S. Holiday Tour at Las Vegas Venetian
Celtic Woman look set to kick off a new Holiday tour with four dates at Las Vegas’ legendary Venetian.
The so-called “Celtic Woman: Home For Christmas – The Symphony Tour” looks set to be a magnificent holiday event, with a press release promising “a dynamic live music experience that showcases their celestial voices” and “holiday favorites underscored by the stirring sound of a full symphony orchestra.”
The four Venetian dates are set to kick off on November 22nd, after which the band will play three more shows on November 23rd, 27th and 28th, before taking their show across the continent, finishing up a month later in Atlanta on December 23rd (just in time for jolly ol’ Santa)
According to Sands Confidential, Christmas tunes won’t be all these Celtic Women have to offer. The band performing some of their classic hits, including, “The Water Is Wide,” “Green Grow the Rushes,” and “The Parting Glass”, as well as what they describe as “timeless pop anthems like “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “Sailing” and “inspirational songs” like “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and “Ave Maria.”
Prices aren’t cheap, but to be fair, for a show of this scale, it’s still cheaper than most musical theater. The band is also offering VIP tickets entitling attendees to a meet-and-greet which is either crazy exciting or really intimidating, depending on your natural disposition.
The show is set to last a whopping 90 minutes, and is under the direction of Emmy-nominated music producer, David Downes, so it’s fair to say you’re getting your money’s worth. Given the band’s impressive history (more than 7 million units shifted worldwide), they no doubt know how to put on a show.
Besides, it’s Christmas! Excess is written into its DNA.
