Celtic Woman Book U.S. Tour Dates Through May 2014
All-female Irish four-piece Celtic Woman have just announced an extensive North American tour which will take them through to May 2014.
The outfit – made up of Mairead Nesbitt, Lisa Lambe, Susan McFadden and the newest member, Mairead Carlin – are set to spend October touring Europe before heading to American shores for a four-night stint in Las Vegas, after which the band are due to play a handful of festive shows as part of their “Home for Christmas, The Symphony Tour,” which extends through a December 22nd performance in Atlanta, Georgia, after which the performers head to Australia for a number of shows. Before heading down under, we imagine they’ll be heading home to celebrate the holidays with their families, and friends and loved ones and stuff. (And if not, someone please stage a workaholics-anonymous-style intervention for the band, please.)
The band’s new tour – the so-called “Emerald Tour” (’cause they are Irish and Emeralds are green and the Emerald Isle and what-not, I imagine) officially begins with a two-night stand between February 14th and 15th in Nashville, Tennessee, and traverses the continent over a 3 month+ period, where they will make numerous stops in numerous places, including major markets like Chicago, San Diego, Houston, Denver, Detroit, among others. The 63-city trek currently concludes on May 30th in Bangor, Maine, but anything could happen between now and then, so where it ends, no-one really knows!
At present, the band are prepping for the DVD/Blu-ray release of “Home For Christmas: Live from Dublin”, which is set to materialize its way into existence on October 27th
It is set to be the visual companion to the band’s Home For Christmas holiday album, and should be broadcast on PBS stations nationwide beginning Thanksgiving weekend and throughout December, according to a press release.
