Celine Dion Signs on for Another Year in Vegas

The Las Vegas production of Celine Dion’s has been scheduled for another year of residency.

In March 2003 Dion debuted her show in Vegas called “A New Day” and during the inaugural year played about 150 nights at a venue called The Colosseum that was specially built at Caesar’s Palace for her production.

The show features 48 dancers in the cast and each night plays in front an audience of over 4,000 people.  According to organizers, the 1 millionth ticket was recently sold.

During select weeks the production runs Wednesday through Sunday.  It ranked second in Pollstar’s 2003 year end list for highest grossing live shows with its take of $80.5 million.

Currently tickets can be purchased for the Dion Las Vegas shows that run through early February.

Recently Dion released “Miracle,” a collaborative effort with Anne Geddes, baby photographer.  It consists of a book, DVD and CD.  Thirteen songs were recorded by Dion for the project.  They include the title track along with renditions of classic songs including “Beautiful Boy,” “What a Wonderful World,” and “Brahms Lullaby.”
