This week Brad Paisley and Keith Urban’s duet, “Start A Band,” topped Billboard’s country single chart, which gave Brad nine non-holiday No. 1 hits in a row. No one else has been able to accomplish that feat in the 19 years since Billboard starting using their BDS computerized monitoring system.

In just ten days, Brad Paisley will be on the next leg for the Paisley Party Tour. However, Brad is looking ahead already to the next run of concerts he will do to coincide with his new album’s release this summer.

One of the main things he wants to do is to give people a really big show, but in a way for making the equipment to be as small as it can possibly be.

According to a recent press release, the Eagles are one of the recently announced acts that will be performing at the CMA Awards 42nd Annual awards ceremony which will be airing live from Nashville’s Sommet Center on November 12. The Eagles have been nominated as CMA Vocal Group of the Year for the third time. The Eagles will be joining a lineup of eclectic performers that include Kid Rock, Trace Adkins and Lady Antebellum.

Grammy Award winning rap trio Beastie Boys will be hosting a three-day gig to motivate voters to go out and be counted in the coming presidential elections via the Get Out and Vote tour which will drop by Richmond, VA on October 28, St. Paul, MN on November 1 and Milwaukee, WI on November 2. [...]

Kid Rock will be performing at the MTV Video Music Awards for 2008. The awards ceremony will air live on September 7 in Los Angeles from Paramount Pictures. Rock will be performing “All Summer Long,” his recent hit single from “Rock N Roll Jesus,” his latest album. Also confirmed as performers for the show this year are the Jonas Brothers and Lil Wayne. Russell Brand, actor and comedian, will be hosting the show.

Kid Rock has added more shows to his current “Rock and Roll Revival Tour.” The trek will now stretch into the middle of September. The rap rocker from Detroit returned from Europe recently and will be starting on a new round of seven Canadian concert dates in Victoria, British Columbia on July 5. The month will wrap up in Michigan for a stand of three nights. In August, he will join Lynyrd Skynyrd on the “Rock and Rebels Tour” where they will visit nine cities.

BBC News is reporting that Kid Rock has refused to place his albums in Apple’s US iTunes store because he says the Internet retailer doesn’t pay the artists enough. Kid Rock is one of the few remaining major acts who has not signed up fully with the service. He says that iTunes has its basis in an outdated system where retailers and record companies take their money and the artists don’t get their fair share.
