His 5,000 square foot Brentwood, TN house that he, his wife and three daughters lived in, has been totaled after a devastating afternoon fire torched the home on Saturday.

At the time the fire struck, Adkins and his wife both were out of town. However, two of their children, along with house guests watching the kids, were in the house. All of them got out safely.

According to The Tennessean, Rhonda, Trace’s wife, was returning home to Tennessee after a visit to Atlanta when she got a call from a neighbor telling her that the home was on fire. She was ten minutes away from home. The whole Brentwood Fire Department responded to attempt to contain the outbreak.

The singer’s wife said, I feel numb. I’m very sad. We lost some irreplaceable items such as our family photos and all of Trace’s awards. However, things can be replaced, people can’t. I’m just happy my children are all safe.

Trace is scheduled to make an appearance this week in Nashville at the CMA Music Awards.

McBride released her most recent album “Shine” in March which climbed to the number 1 spot on the Billboard Country album charts. The album, produced by Dann Huff (Carrie Underwood, Bon Jovi), spawned the popular single “Ride.”

Adkins is supporting his 10th Album entitled “X” which was released last fall. His single “Muddy Water” has been making progress on the country singles charts as the record peaked at 7 on the country charts.
