Can’t reconcile your love for more than one seemingly opposed genre? Don’t! Make a new genre, like Lindsey Stirling, who’s managed work her way to the top of both the dance/electronic chart and the classical chart with her own (very much her own) brand of dance meets classical music. Rumor (or, rather, fact) has it that’s she’s now set to embark on a 44 city North American tour, so you can see her in action.
The violinist/dancer/composer, who combines electronic beats with classical, pop and hip hop, re-released her self-titled debut in October. As well as being a major success as far as the dance/electronic and classical album charts are concerned, the LP also peaked at No 23 on the Nielsen SoundScan albums chart.
The tour is due to kick off on May 13th in San Diego, and will see Stirling make stops in numerous major markets, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Las Vegas, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Boston, and Houston, before wrapping up on July 12th at Dallas’ South Side Ballroom.
As well as being a master of genre, Stirling also choreographs and directs her own videos on her YouTube channel, Lindseystomp, which has amassed over 3.8 million subscribers since launching in 2007.
In November Stirling headlined the first ever YouTube Music Awards where she took home the “Response of the Year” award for her duet with Pentatonix for their version of Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive.”
On a statement on Stirling’s official website, the woman herself says:
“Hey Guys! I’m heading on tour again in 2014! It’s been 14 months since my last US tour and I cannot wait to get back on the road. I’ll be playing some new songs and will have a brand new show to share.”
