Farm Aid Returns with Heavyweights Kenny Chesney, Dave Matthews

This year’s lineup for the benefit show Farm Aid, which will include mainstays Dave Matthews, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Willie Nelson, recently got much bigger.

Organizers announced today that Band of Horses, Jeff Tweedy, Jason Mraz, Norah Jones and Kenny Chesney have been added for this year’s concert. The 35th anniversary show for the benefit is scheduled to take place in Milwaukee, WI at Miller Park on October 2.

On Saturday August 14 tickets will be going on sale at tickets.com. Advanced tickets can be ordered by Farm Aid members. More information is posted on Farm Aid’s website.

Kenny Chesney is Going to Vegas Baby!

Kenny Chesney said that he’d be largely be concert free in 2010 save for a handful of one off festival-type shows. I guess the allure of Las Vegas was simply too much for this country boy to pass up. Chesney announced he would be playing four nights at the Joint at Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Hotel & Casino — May 14 & 15 and July 2 & 3.

Churchill Downs Plays Host to HullabaLOU 3-Day Music Festival

When you’ve got a sprawling complex like Churchill Downs, you’ve got to figure out how to get more use out of it than a few horse races a year. The home of the famous Kentucky Derby is opening its gates for stars of the musical variety this coming summer. It will play host to a 3-day music festival called HullabaLOU set for July 23-25. A host of big name acts have already attached themselves to the festival including Kenny Chesney, Bon Jovi and Dave Matthews Band. 65 bands are said to play the festival and they will range from country and bluegrass to classic rock and adult contemporary. Other bands associated with the event include Loretta Lynn, the Black Crowes, Kansas, the Steve Miller Band, The Doobie Brothers, Dwight Yoakam, Michael McDonald, Gladys Knight, Steppenwolf, 38 Special, Taj Mahal and The O’Jays.

Kenny Chesney Takes 2010 Off from Touring

Kenny Chesney is one of the hardest road men in music. He’s been touring solid since 2004, and evidently that toll has been wearing on him of late. Chesney announced that no major tour would be scheduled for the summer of 2010. He relayed the information to Entertainment Weekly before his September 19 show in Indianapolis.
