Grammy Award-winning megastar Carrie Underwood is set to hit the beach this summer, albeit probably without a bikini. The “Blown Away” singer will headline this year’s 2nd Annual Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam, taking place over Labor Day Weekend in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Joining her across the three days’ headlining slots are Dierks Bentley, who recently released his new album Riser, and Blake Shelton, who has been working on his sixth season as a mentor on NBC’s “The Voice” this week.
Underwood will perform on Friday, August 29th, Bentley on Saturday, August 30th, and Shelton will close out the festival on Sunday, August 31st.
“I promised everyone that the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam lineup would be huge, and I think we delivered,” said Executive Producer of Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam, Rendy Lovelady in an official statement on Thursday.
Last year’s inaugural Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam attracted thousands of country fans from all over the United States and beyond with a lineup that included Toby Keith, Brantley Gilbert, Trace Adkins and many more.
Carrie Underwood first rose to fame as the winner of the fourth season of “American Idol” in 2005. Since then, she has been blessed with a career not many reality stars can claim to have had, becoming a multi-platinum selling recording artist, the recipient of six Grammy Awards, sixteen Billboard Music Awards, seven American Music Awards and ten Academy of Country Music Awards, among several others. Furthermore, as a songwriter, she has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song. It doesn’t stop there. Underwood is also a two-time winner of the Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year award and the first woman to win such an award twice and she was inducted into and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2008. She was also inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2009. Not bad, Underwood. Not bad.
