Tom Shepard, Festival Network CEO stated in a recent press release, for the Newport Folk Festival this year we’ve taken lots of care in our selection of artists. Our festival is one of the United States’ oldest musical events. The lineup this year is respecting our storied history while at the same bringing in new artists representing American music’s future.
On April 23 tickets will be going on sale. More information on ticket pricing and package can be found at the corporate website for the event at festivalnetwork.com.
The famous festival, which was instrumental in launching the careers of Joan Baez and Bob Dylan among other performers, was established in 1959 by Peter Seeger, Oscar Brand and Theordore Bikel, folk singers, as well as George Wein, the founder of the Newport Jazz Festival.
