Brantley Gilbert Sets Up First Headlining Tour

Brantley Gilbert has been on tours opening for stars like Toby Keith and Eric Church, but later this year he will set out on his first headlining tour.

Dubbed the “Hell on Wheels Tour,” Gilbert will kick off the headlining dates on September 27 at the Elliot Hall of Music in Lafayette, Ind. and will continue on the road until a show at Cowboys Dance Hall in San Antonio, Texas on October 10. In between those dates, he will also hit Poplar Bluff, Mo.; Missoula, Mont.; Bozeman, Mont.; Boise, Idaho; Dodge City, Kan. and Amarillo, Texas. Uncle Kracker, Greg Bates and Brian Davis will provide support at various shows.

The tour comes fresh on the heels of Gilbert’s second consecutive number one hit, “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do.” He first topped the country singles chart with his hit, “Country Must Be Country Wide.” Both are from his sophomore album, Hell on Wheels.

Gilbert has also written hits for other artists, writing Jason Aldean’s hits “My Kind of Party” and “Dirt Road Anthem.” The latter was co-written with country artist Colt Ford. Gilbert said he was pleased to have Aldean cover his songs.

“It’s an honor that someone like Jason would want to record one of my songs,” the 27-year-old told TheBoot.com. “It’s a big step for me as a songwriter and I couldn’t have asked for a better artist to perform the songs. After all, he’s a Georgia boy.”

Gilbert currently is on the road with Toby Keith for his “Live in Overdrive” tour, and he spent the first part of the year touring with Eric Church on the “Blood, Sweat and Beers Tour.”

Halfway to Heaven peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, and topped out at number four on the overall Billboard 200 Albums chart.
