Brad Paisley Concert Tour Expands by 43 Dates Through October

Just this past weekend, Brad Paisley wrapped up the initial leg of the Virtual Reality Tour 2012, and his website announced that during the tour he played to more than 218,000 fans. But there are likely plenty of people that still want to see the former CMA Entertainer of the Year, and Paisley has already announced a second leg of the tour for later this year.

The second leg will consist of 43 concerts, the first of which will be held in St. Louis on May 18. The tour will run through October 20, when he performs at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angles. The run will hit nearly every part of the United States, and Paisley and his band also will cross the border for a few dates in Canada.

Like the first leg of the tour, most of the dates will be supported by The Band Perry and Scotty McCreery. For a Chicago show at Wrigley Field on June 9, however, Paisley will play with Miranda Lambert, Chris Young and Jerrod Niemann, as well as the Band Perry.

Paisley will be supporting his most recent album, This is Country Music, which was released in May 2011. That album reached number one on the Billboard country albums charts, but was held out of the top spot on the overall Billboard 200 albums charts only by Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, which was released the same day.

Scotty McCreery is the winner of season 10 of “American Idol” and is a current nominee for the 2012 ACM New Artist award. The Band Perry is a group of siblings (two brothers and a sister) from Mississippi who are still supporting their 2010 self-titled debut. To date, the album has produced four top-ten country hits.

During the first leg of the tour, 19 of the shows were sellouts, so get your tickets fast.
