Bon Jovi Readies 2010 World Tour

In February, Bon Jovi is launching a world tour with a schedule full of arena dates that will last for two years. The tour is to support “The Circle,” the band’s newest and upcoming studio album.

The tour will start in Seattle on February 19. The West Coast swing will continue through the middle of March before heading for the east. The tour will include inaugural shows on May 26-27 in East Rutherford, NY for the New Meadowlands Stadium, which is the future home for the New York Jets and New York Giants of the NFL.

Pre-sales for the New Jerseys shows began on October 26. Additional ticketing information can be found at the band’s website.

“The Circle,” due out in stores on November 10, is the band’s tenth studio album. Bon Jovi worked with the producer John Shanks (Jane’s Addiction, Sheryl Crow) on the album. There will be deluxe and standard versions available. The deluxe version will include a DVD that features “When We Were Beautiful,” a documentary that chronicles the band’s Lost Highway Tour of 2007-08.

Richie Sambora, guitarist, told Rolling Stone over the summer that there would be some big choruses. It will have the Bon Jovi sound, but sound fresh. We experimented with new sounds and had a great time working together with John Shanks. He is a great guitar player also, so on the guitar sounds we did lots of weaseling.

The new album for Bon Jovi has lots of great guitar sounds and new atmosphere. It makes it very modern. People will dig it. It rocks hard, Sambora added.

“We Weren’t Born to Follow,” the first single from the album, hit the radio airwaves this August, debuting on Billboard’s Hot 100 at No. 90. It was the 27th career entry for the band on Billboard’s singles chart.

In 2007 Bon Jovi’s “Lost Highway” debuted on the top of Billboard’s 200 chart and spawned the hit song “You Want To Make a Memory.” The album was the first for the band to top the charts since “New Jersey” in 1988.
