Bon Iver Ends Hiatus for New Album, Summer Tour
The world hasn’t heard anything from Bon Iver in quite some time. Since 2009, when their hiatus began, Justin Vernon has performed with various musicians ranging from Kayne West to The National without any of the other eight band members.
It was only recently that information about the collective began to surface. Following the announcement of the second full length set from Bon Iver, which will follow “For Emma, Forever Ago” as well as their EP “Bloodbank,” is news of a summer tour for 2011. To support their self-titled album, which is scheduled to be released on June 21, dates have been announced as well as the opening act for their tour that will take the band to the largest venues they will have performed in to date.
Bon Iver will be kicking their tour off just a day after they release their much anticipated album. The outing will launch from Wisconsin, their home state. The band will wrap up their trek of two months in Brooklyn with a billing that will include a “special guest”(I’m hoping for Kayne).
