blake shelton Biography

The American country singer Blake Shelton was born in Ada, Oklahoma on June 18, 1976. Shelton made his debut in 2001 with the song “Austin,” the first single off his debut self-titled album. The single spent five weeks in the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. It was the lead single off his debut gold certified album. Two other Top 20 hits were spawned from the set as well. After the Nashville-based Giants Records closed in 2001, Shelton transferred over to the Nashville subsidiary of Warner Bros. Records.

Shelton's next two albums, “The Dreamer” (2003) and “Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill” (2004), were both certified gold also. He released “Pure BS”, his fourth album, in 2007. In 2008, the set was re-issued and included a cover of “Home,” the pop hit by Michael Buble, as a bonus track. In November 2008, Shelton released “Startin' Fires,” his fifth album. Currently he is a vocal coach with “The Voice,” an NBC reality talent program, along with Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine.

Shelton has had seventeen singles chart on the country chart and had eight No. 1 hits: 2001's “Austin,” 2003's “The Baby,” 2004-2005's “Some Beach,” 2008's “Home,” 2009's “She Wouldn't Be Gone” and 2010's “Hillbilly Bone” and “All About Tonight” and 2011's “Who Are You When I'm Not Looking.” Shelton has also had three additional Top Ten singles: a cover of “Goodbye Time” by Conway Twitty, “I'll Just Hold On” and “Nobody but Me.”
