Black Eyed Peas to Perform at Super Bowl XVL
The recent run by the NFL of having long time veterans (yes that means “old”) performing at the halftime show of the Super Bowl has been snapped. This time around the Black Eyes Peas are getting the gig.
The show in recent years has been performed by acts such as Paul McCartney, Prince, the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and The Who. It seemed like the trend was towards older acts who would less likely offend viewing audience members.
Today during FOX’s coverage of the Dallas Cowboys-New Orleans Saints game, the NFL announced that on February 6 the Black Eyed Peas are going to perform in Cowboys Stadium at the Super Bowl’s halftime show.
The Black Eyed Peas, since they formed in 1995, have won six Grammy Awards and sold over 28 million worldwide albums as well as over 30.8 million in digital tracks.
